I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Entelect (Johannesburg) in Mar 2026
Interview
First you get a pre-screening call where you tell them a bit about yourself.
After a few weeks, you're invited to an Open day where they tell you about the company, do group tech challenges and then you have an 8-minute interview where they ask you questions.
Pros:
- The interview is fun. You meet new people and the interviewers try to break the ice as much as possible.
- They provide food and snacks.
Cons:
- The mob programming breaks the flow of a group. These are strangers, really, and now for a quarter of the time you cannot speak. It's hard to create a good group dynamic under those circumstances. Further, they don't make sure that everyone can code in the same language when put into a group.
- The interview/open day is very long (9 hrs), but an interviewer only speaks to you directly for 8 minutes.
- Depending on which interviewer you get, you get a drastically different experience. Vastly different questions are asked. I think if you did the effort to be there, they should give everyone the same effort back.

Interview
You are 1st placed in a group of 4 where you will have to solve coding problems in either Java or C#. After this you will have a 1 on 1 interview where they will ask you basic questions such as tell us about yourself and why do you want to work here.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Group setting and we had to solve 4 leetcode style problems, prime numbers,Fizzbuzz,2 sum, longest substring without repeating characters.
First part was a conversation to get to know me and my experience, which was relatively easy. The second half of the interview was technical problem solving/coding questions, which were a lot more challenging.
