I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Emergent Software in Sept 2025
Interview
I had an excellent interview experience. The process was thorough and challenging in all the right ways, and I appreciated the opportunity to really put in the effort to ensure a strong mutual fit. The steps were exactly as outlined in the job description, and communication was clear and consistent from start to finish.
What stood out most was how well-run the entire process was. Everyone I spoke with was responsive, open, and genuinely enjoyable to talk to. The team moved quickly, respected my time, and demonstrated a high level of preparation and professionalism. It was an impressive — and even fun — experience that gave me confidence in the caliber of people I’d be working with.
Going through a thoughtful and challenging process actually gave me a lot of confidence about the role and the people I’d be working with. It was clear the team cares about finding the right fit, and that level of rigor usually means you’ll end up working alongside smart, capable people who take their work seriously.

They asked me to walk through how I’d approach a complex, ambiguous product challenge and explain the thought process behind my decisions.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Emergent Software in Sept 2025
Interview
The interview process was very intentional. It included a call with recruiting, online questionnaires for personality and technical fit and several 90 minute interviews. There were also scenario questions that I appreciated were generic instead of the case studies that I've seen at other companies where it seems free consulting work is being provided.

Interview
1. Met with HR
2. Technical interview (at level of product manager, not dev)
3. Product exercise (1.5 hours, had to just walk through a client, took maybe and hour of prep)
4. Meeting with COO and Product Head (1.5 hours)
They are very transparent about their process. I liked it because it means I'm working with competent folks.
