I submitted my resume via Elsevier's career website, and Lauren, Elsevier's Recruiter, scheduled a Teams interview. During the interview, she stated "I don't want to put you on the spot" and then proceeded to dissect my past, apparently too-short tenures at my previous jobs. I didn't understand her viewpoint because if there was any question about me moving on from jobs quickly, why am I sitting in a Teams interview with her? The most important waste of time was the salary ranges for the role, while widely ranging, were much higher on the job description than what the recruiter, Lauren, shared. On the website, it states a base salary of up to $107K and a top range OTE of $165K, and Lauren told me during the interview the salary was only $80K and had a $27K bonus at 100%, so the top of the salary is $107K, not the base salary. It was a waste of time to be criticized for a low-paying role that I was over-qualified for.
