They pulled a bait and switch on my start date after I signed the offer letter.
I had three interviews. The first was with the recruiter for the initial screener, the second was an interview with the Hiring Manager, and the third was interview with multiple team members. The interview process was pretty standard, and took about a week. Within one day from the final interview, I was notified that I was chosen to fulfill the role. I received an offer letter that stipulated the terms discussed in the interviews (pay, start date, etc). I signed the offer letter within 24 hours, then was notified by the recruiter that she needed to call me. We connected right away and she said the team needed someone to join sooner than the previously agreed upon (and documented) start date.
During the interview process, I made it clear to the recruiter and hiring manager that I would need to give a standard 2 week notice to my current employer and that I would be able to start work at Ellevest immediately after those 2 weeks had passed. While that was agreed to verbally as well as written out in the offer letter they sent, they tried to pressure me into an earlier start date after the offer went out. I told them I agreed (and signed) the original terms but would not be able to accommodate an immediate start date. This nullified my offer and they moved forward with a different candidate that could start right away.
