I interviewed for an attorney role in January/February 2021. I had a screener with HR where I discussed my reasons for wanting a new job, compensation expectations, etc. Then I met with the hiring manager via Zoom, and then two others via Zoom. I received very positive feedback and was told "you'll be hearing from us very soon." Then, surprise! The recruiter told me I had to take a test. It was approximately 2 hours to redline a contract according to specifications. I completed the test and heard nothing for a week. When I followed up, I received an auto-rejection email. That seemed weird, so when I asked the recruiter for feedback, she said the email wasn't meant to be sent to me, but OH, they couldn't meet my salary requirements anyway. I wish they wouldn't have wasted my time since I told them my salary requirements up front.
