      Web Developer Interview

      7 Jul 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Edlio (Austin, TX)

      Interview

I initially followed a job application process on their website after finding them through an internet search. I submitted a resume and a summary letter that was fairly simple and laid out my relevant skills. I received an interview request within about 6 weeks, and went there dressed in a suit. It turned out, they have a very casual office to the extent that the suit is actually weird; but that was only in my head of course, the two developers who interviewed me were nice and courteous. Most of the meeting was them describing details about the company and how things are done in terms of workflow and client-base. They asked me to elaborate on a couple of points on my resume, mainly describing whether I can or can't perform the full stack of tasks expected of a Wordpress developer. The place looked nice and quiet, the employees were professional and nice, and it sounded like the work varies constantly, so all good things.

      Question 1

I received two technical questions, and was given a computer and an empty room to solve them. One was a simple CSS question, and I'm pretty sure I made a mistake in the other one, which was to build a simple table layout, and I'd never had to manually type table html tags. Nothing unexpected or difficult if you're not completely lying about knowing html :D
