      QA Analyst Interview

      29 Nov 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at EchoStar in Nov 2025

      Interview

The interview felt average. We had a normal conversation, and the interviewer mentioned that the environment is fast-paced, although he himself was very mellow and laid-back. Usually, in a fast-paced environment, people tend to be more energized, so that contrast stood out to me. When we discussed manual regression testing, I mentioned that if I have free time, I usually work on my own internal regression automation project. I also explained that when I use AI tools, it’s typically for automation, not manual testing. My intention in bringing up automation was to show that I’m motivated and focused on self-development—I don’t just wait for tasks to be assigned, but look for ways to improve and contribute. However, I think the interviewer misunderstood and may have thought I was leaning toward an automation testing role. I was only highlighting that as an example of initiative and self-development, not to indicate a preference for automation over manual testing. All of my questions were answered, but the answers were somewhat vague—I can’t really recall them in detail. It wasn’t that I didn’t understand them, but rather the way they were explained, it didn’t stick in my memory.
