I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Eaton (Dublin, Dublin) in Aug 2018
Interview
3 steps:
1. Initial call with HR
2. Technical interview over phone
3. On-site interview
HR interview was short and covered the basics.
For the phone interview, the person was based in US and I was told by HR he would call me directly onto my phone. However, the interviewer got in touch the day before the interview and insisted on webex. The problem was that webex free number does not work for all mobile operators in Ireland, so I was asked to call to pay number for webex. The interview lasted 1 hour and I got charged about 25€ for it. I asked HR to cover the costs about 5 times (over phone and email), delivered them my phone bill as a proof, but nothing, they just ignored it. This is something I believe should be covered by the company, since they are the ones that insisted on using webex paid number.
Third interview was in person in Dublin office - it consisted of 2 separate interviews with people flown from US and Switzerland. It covered my previous experience and basically them explaining how is the company structured and what the job would be.
After this, they wanted to give me an offer and were even open for flexible working.
Fourth interview was meant to be a chat with newly hired Irish manager, once he starts working. However, this didn't happen - the newly hired manager cancelled the position and I guess they have to go trough whole hiring process again, since he envisioned the teams differently to them. Seems like you can't hire the team before you hire the manager.
Persistent thing through all the interview process was that this company is seriously lacking structure, process and communication between different departments. HR says one thing, team in US says other thing, manager third. It is all over the shop.
