Had to fill out an application, send a cover letter and resume, and fill out a background check just to apply. Had to submit my SSN and birth date before I even had my interview, which I found very odd since it can lead to age discrimination. It also makes me wonder if they didn't hire me due to my age, since they knew my birth date before the interview (this is a bad practice, by the way). Also had to complete a written assignment, which was to write a policy about Bullying in the Workplace. Came to office, had a tour, had a fake scenario to play out that was recorded on video, and then I had a panel interview with 4 people. It was a long and complicated process. The Executive Director looked annoyed during the entire interview and she didn't smile at me once or shake my hand when I left the interview room. They also asked me some very odd questions during the interview, such as if I drink alcohol, if I've ever done marijuana, if I've ever had a DUI. I don't even drink except maybe 3 times a year, and I've never had a DUI or any other crime other than a speeding ticket 25 years ago, but I felt like I was being interrogated by the FBI. It was the most odd interview I've ever had.
