The recruiter asked me what I currently make. I answered the question by stating my ideal salary range the first time she asked the question. She asked the question again. It really didn't sit well with me. Blogs and friends that recruit for Fortune 100 organizations say to respond this way. It's faux pas to ask the salary because the goal is to ensure the desired salary aligned with the position's salary.
Also, the recruiting assistant and I emailed back and forth before the phone interview, so a few days after not hearing back when they said I would, I followed up with her. Instead of sending me a reply email, I received a generic email from a generic email address within the hour that stated I wouldn't be moving forward. I was shocked by the lack of professionalism.
