I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Din Tai Fung (Glendale, CA) in Jan 2025
Interview
There were two interview stages, first a virtual recorded video, and the second in-person. The hiring process was very easy and straight-forward. However, the manager I spoke with during the in-person interview was unfortunately a bit rude. While I was answering his questions, he was working and watching videos on his computer, yawning constantly, reclined in his chair, and even interrupted me on a few occasions as if to "hurry me up." I understand that he probably took time away from a busy day to speak with me, but there is no need to make a potential new team member feel like an annoyance. I don't expect bubbly or even a smile, just at least be...normal? professional? Despite the attitude, I kept my composure during the interview and ended up being offered the position. I declined. I typically give people the benefit of the doubt, but if he was like that in the interview, I cant imagine working under his management.
P.s. I want to add, the rest of the staff that I spoke with while there was incredibly sweet and warm.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
When was a time you faced criticism or a challenge at a work place and how did you overcome it?
Job interview was extremely easy. Only had to answer two questions. Why I wanted to work there and how I would handle frustrated customers. Then was my turn to ask the manager questions of my own. I had a couple in store which is what I think landed me the job. I was offered the position on the spot.

Interview
The interview was with a manager in the back section of the restaurant. Since it was a little loud in the restaurant, I felt less nervous and more relaxed. The process took about 30 minutes and I was given an offer on the spot.

Interview
Quick just had one interview with one of the general managers. Was hired after a week and scheduled for my first shift. Pretty responsive to the questions I had. Only met one store manager though
