I applied through university. I interviewed at Development Planning & Financing Group
Interview
Two rounds of interviews, first with 2 middle management then with the managing principal and CEO himself. First half was mostly going through my resume and trying to connect how it relates to what they do. Entry-level positions are very Excel based so a good Excel background is good. The second round was basically a conversation with the MP and CEO. Also had a 90 minute Excel test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Weren't a lot of hard questions, they just wanted to see if my skill set fit what they needed, particularly the Excel modeling part.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Development Planning & Financing Group (Phoenix, AZ) in Jan 2012
Interview
First I did a phone interview with a recruiter who received my resume from Career builder. Then I did an in person interview that was a panel style with recruiters, ceo and other team members. Then I had to do a very difficult excel test. Test was hard and I was honest that I didn't know most of it. I took a modeling course after I got the job and it really helped me. I recommend a modeling course for anyone who applies to this job. It is a technical analyst role.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Development Planning & Financing Group (Las Vegas, NV) in Jan 2011
Interview
I did a couple of phone interviews, followed by one on-site interview. I don't recall doing any drug test. They had an Excel assessment set up on-site. They actually found me through Monster and reached out to me first. It was all a pretty fast, simple, and pretty relaxed process. I do think it was an effective process, though.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
My interview was quite some time ago, and I don't actually remember any specific questions. I just remember that it was fairly relaxed and conversational. They were trying to get a feel for the kind of work I was comfortable with. I like this kind of interview.
