You apply online, wait a few weeks. After that you receive a call to set up a Mechanical Aptitude Test of 4 sections. Section 1 is full of basic physics and common sense question. The second part is Spatial Relations exam for example how to fold a box with out a paper it's all a mental exam. The trick is do as many as you can and get those right. Don't get guess take your time, but also think quick because you're timed. Section 3 is troubleshooting, a few boxes interconnected with another. You're suppose to following the faulty box and see why its bad. The finally part is full of the basic personality test. For example "I can count to ten" true or false. And later on they'll ask you the question in a different way. Counting to ten is easy." If you pass then you'll get called for the interview. The interview is like another ex. your experience, why you want to leave your current job, and so on.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Delta Air Lines (Seattle, WA) in Sept 2021

      Interview

It was a web interview with 2 hiring managers, right off the bat something was off, they didn't have my resume and just asked some basic STAR questions and that was it. Overall I was confident, about a week later I get a call from a Delta recruiter saying I got the job but I was to work for a contractor for 6-12 months before being hired direct. I was still on board but it all fell apart when I got the email from the contractor stating it was for a Aircraft Support Mechanic for significantly less pay than you would expect. Very misleading, I applied on the Delta website for the AMT position and was interviewed for the AMT position. It was a classic bait and switch. I understand them wanting to pick and choose but you can't expect me to take a large pay cut and have to go spend thousands on tools on for a "shot" and a direct position especially considering that this pay doesn't take into account the cost of living in my area which is substantial. I'm not gonna give up my seniority and union in my current job just so that these guys could underpay me and decide to kick me to the street with know where to go. No thanks.
