I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Deliveroo (London, England) in Mar 2022
Interview
It was one of the best interview experience for me
Recruiter was friendly and actually rooting for your success. Interviewers were knowledgeable, very professional and interesting to connect with. But the best thing about the interview was timely and detailed feedbacks between the interviews and at the end too
There were total of 5 rounds (excluding recruiter screening)
- Tech Screening [ELIMINATION ROUND] : It was chat about my past projects, why i took an approach for a project and some quick technical questions around that
- Assignment Round [ELIMINATION ROUND]: Got a regression task to be completed in 24 - 48 hours
Got feedback on first 2 rounds
ONSITE
ML theory round : This was the round i got the no in. I have mentioned few of the questions asked in Q/A section.
ML practical round: It was more like a case study round where i was asked how would i help CRM team in detecting fraudulent tickets raised by customers.
Behavioural and Business Acumen Round: Again i have mentioned major theme of questions in Q/A section and as the name goes this round revolves around behavioural aspects and its just my hypothesis but this round also plays a role in determining which role level you will be end up getting offer for.
I haven't mentioned much about rounds here as Deliveroo has done a brilliant job in mentioned about it on their website.
Interview questions [4]
Question 1
How Logistic regression minimises its loss function ?
How imbalanced data causes issue in Classification ? How is it handled ? What are the evaluation metrics for such scenario ? Which one to choose and why ?
Have you mentored anybody in the past ?
If yes, How [Explain and further why questions on that ]
How did you adjust yourself for mentoring someone?
Did you have experience where you r mentoring didn't work for you and if yes, what did you do that in scenario ?
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such an extensive review. I'm sorry it didn't go further this time, but hopefully we will have an opportunity to cross paths in the future.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Deliveroo (Hyderābād) in Jun 2024
Interview
The interview process is different from the typical processes where the judgement is based on solving a hard problem. Here the assessments are based on practical knowledge and skills. There were 5 rounds: screening, assessment, ML theory, ML system design, and behavioural.
Interview questions [4]
Question 1
Screening: Questions about current projects, python, neural networks.
ML Theory: Tested theoretical knowledge and core basics of Machine Learning. Topics on logistic regression, different types of loss functions, bias, variance, neural networks, regularisation and its usage.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Deliveroo (London, England) in Oct 2022
Interview
It was meant to be in three stages but I didnt pass the first stage as the interviewer felt he didnt get enough signal during the interview. The first stage used to be just project discussion but python and engineering questions have now been added which was not communicated to me prior to the interview. I mentioned that to the interviewer who apologised but still evaluates my responses.
