I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Deliveroo (London, England) in Aug 2021
Interview
I interviewed for Global Rider Supply Manager role with Deliveroo in August and had one of my worst interview experiences till date.
I gave a total of 6 interviews over 2.5 months for the role which included a case interview, 4 fit interviews and 1 “chat” (that’s how the recruiter puts it) with the Team Director. I got strong feedback on all my fit & case interviews and the recruiter confirmed that the team saw me a good fit for the position. However, following my discussion with the Team Director, which turned out to be a 45 minute case interview instead of a 15 min chat (as I was told), the recruiter came back saying that I did not have the right level of experience for the role. This came as a surprise to me as all along the interviewers were assessing me for the experience required for the role. I am not sure how / why after my discussions with the Team Director, the team changed their opinion. And if the Team Director’s opinion was the final decision maker, why wasn’t I informed of it and the chat scheduled much earlier in the interview process?
To add on to it, the recruiter offered an olive branch by offering another role as the team saw me a great fit for Deliveroo. The recruiter was supposed to come back to me within a week with details on the the new role but it’s been over a month and I haven’t heard anything from him.
Overall, it was a very unprofessional interview experience with false promises & an ambiguous process. I hope Deliveroo leadership takes my experience in a constructive way and take actions to improve the interview process.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. This is well below our standards and I'm sorry to hear your experience wasn't a good one. Would you mind dropping me a note? I'd love to dig into this, see what happened about that other role, and try make it up to you. - jamie.edwards+glassdoor@deliveroo.co.uk
