I applied through university. I interviewed at Dataminr in Feb 2016
Interview
a joke. I had three phone interviews with two different people. First interview was interesting. The second was supposed to be with a different employee. The same guy from the first round called me. I reminded him that we already spoke. He didn't seem to care. Gave me the exact same interview. I got invited for a 3rd interview. The interviewer seemed distracted and disinterested, despite asking absurdly simple questions, like "What do you do in your free time?" "Tell me about some news stories that you're following?" and "Tell me about someone you look up to?" I am amazed that based on those questions and others like them that were able to make an 'objective' assessment.

"What do you do in your free time?" "Tell me about some news stories that you're following?" and "Tell me about someone you look up to?"
It was a straight forward process. Nothing about the scheduling or interview felt unique or uncomfortable. They asked questions relevant to the field and the position. After not being offered the position, I reached out to the interviewer to ask for feedback and he was very polite and gave me plenty of honest and helpful responses.
