      Senior Python Developer Interview

      23 Oct 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      São Paulo, São Paulo
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at DataArt (São Paulo, São Paulo) in Oct 2025

      Interview

The role was for a Quantitative Analyst in a US based company. First interview with HR went really well. Second interview was technical with an interviewer from DataArt. The guy had really poor english, was rushing through the questions (didn't even let me finish some of them) and asked a lot of concepts that those developers never use. Data analysis, Pandas, SQL, problem solving were never the focus. In the technical interview, there were no questions regarding past experiences, problem solving, ability to learn and adapt. I also do interviews in my company, and if you do it like this you fail to hire good developers and get those who only memorized all the concepts.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

SQL: joins, coalesce, having, group by. Pandas: DataFrame merges, filters. Python: a few basic questions, sorting algorithms, garbage collectors, MRO, context managers, inheritance, implementation of iterators (__iter__ and __next__), comprehension, threading, multiprocessing, FAST API, Flask, Django ORM, REST APIs, @property, *args and **kwargs, Pydantic, generators, decorators, functools and itertools, annotations, SOLID, design patterns, ACID, etc.. AWS: assign permissions to new users and access from Python.
