      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at DC Promotions (Vienna, VA) in Jan 2019

      Interview

Did my research on the company for the preliminary interview, the interviewer seemed impressed that I knew what I was talking about, not only about the industry but also about their company history and marketing processes. Second is a job shadow, very relived to see what the day to day looks like. They tested both soft and hard business skills. It was pretty throughout; so if you're not patient or confident in your abilities, it would be very challenging. Third is sit down later that week if you get a recommendation from their staff.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at DC Promotions (Washington, DC) in Jun 2018

      Interview

I applied for the Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator position at DC Promotions. I received a phone call that they were wrapping up interviews but saw my application last minute and would love to interview me. I arrived at the interview as did five other girls applying for the same position. We all were required to fill out a form and then interviewed separately. I now think they call five people in at a time because they know four won't be back for the next interview. When arriving they didn't even know what I applied for until I wrote it down on the application. The job I was called in to interview for was not what they presented to me over the phone. It was a scam. The interview was for a Multi-level marketing position. MLM salespeople are expected to sell products directly to end-user retail consumers by means of relationship referrals and word of mouth marketing, but most importantly they are incentivized to recruit others to join the company as fellow salespeople so that these can become their downline distributors. Honestly, this whole process made me feel unimportant, icky, and that my time was not valued. All the feelings you don't want to have when searching for a job.

Dear Applicant, During our interview process we evaluate multiple people for a position - just like EVERY company. Not sure how that insinuates that DC Promotions is an MLM, because it is a very common interview method. We interview multiple people to ensure we are hiring the most qualified candidate. Seeing as your interview process only took 1 day, you were not selected to continue the interview process for the Public Relations Coordinator. If you would like feedback as to why we moved forward with another candidate feel free to reach out to our HR team at careers@dcpromotionsinc.com. Also, we encourage you to educate yourself and do more research on what an MLM actually is. At DC Promotions every employee is a W2 employee, even our sales team. That fact alone negates your fictitious claims. Thank you.
