      Sales Enablement Team Lead Interview

      5 Jan 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Cvent (London, England) in Oct 2017

      Interview

This company’s recruitment process is a farce and a joke! I want to write about my experience to warn others. The process was unnecessarily long winded. 1. A telephone call with the head of recruitment. 2. A telephone interview with head of EMEA marketing 3. Went to their office for a face-to-face interview with head or European Marketing 4. In the same visit, I met with a ‘would be’ colleague. 5. Face to face interview with the European Manager. 6. A telephone call to the manager of marketing based in India 7. A telephone call to the VP of marketing in Virginia. By this point I had 4 video calls (totalling 1.5 hours) and 3 face to face interview (totalling 2 hours) The cost of the recruitment process so far, for a mediocre role would begin to make any applicant feel hopeful. I then received a phone call to say I had been unsuccessful, but they saw a potential sales vacancy that I could suit. Process starts again 1. Invited in for shadowing (1 hour) 2. Interviewed in same visit by head of European sales. (0.5 hour) 3. Interviewed by 2 of the sales development clashes (0.75 hours) I was finally offered the job on the phone 1.5 hours after leaving the office and told all the paper work will be sent across. I was then asked to speak to VP of Sales based in Virginia as courtesy call. I waited for the documents to come via email… I waited some more… I then chose to chase CVENT after a couple of days, asking for documents to be sent over to get the ball rolling. I was then informed that they are now looking at other candidates for the same role. I asked, “does that mean the offer you have made to me on our last phonecall, has been rescinded?” I am told, “no and we will be in touch in due course.” A week passes and I am told they now have multiple vacancies. I then send an email to see what the progress is, and receive no response (however, I have a tracker plug-in so I can see the emails are being read and not replied to). It has now been since the job offer and no sign of a document. The overall process started over 3 months ago. I have spoken to 12 different members of staff, from managers, to directors, to a VP, so the cost for their time must have been massive. For it all to stall thanks to an atrocious recruitment department. At time of writing I am still yet to hear from CVENT. I have since been offered work elsewhere - which I will be taking. If they are willing to treat a prospective employee like this, what sort of treatment can you expect once in position? Highly recommend not working here, or even applying!
