The recruiter I interviewed with was very nice and professional. The position I was interviewing for was not one that he was typically responsible for (he was taking over temporarily for the lead recruiter). It was the standard questions. Why Crunchyroll? Tell me about your experience. Are you comfortable with the hybrid work schedule, etc. I then interviewed with the manager of the department, who was also very nice and straightforward about what the position entailed. She told me I'd be moving to the panel interview. I received a call from the lead recruiter (who actually handled the type of position I applied for) a few days ago and we discussed the position in more detail. She told me she'd be in touch with times for the panel interview. I received an email a couple days after that saying the panel had decided the scope of the position had changed and they needed someone with more experience in a particular skill and that my panel interview was being canceled. It was weird and made me think that I attended a fake interview and that they'd already identified an internal candidate. The position was then reposted with no job description change citing the particular aspect they felt I lacked (which is a sign that they wanted to comply with EEO requirements but had already identified an internal candidate)
