Typical first round screen with a recruiter. I was pretty jazzed after speaking with him since I love the product.
Unfortunately, I had to cut the first technical screen on CoderPad short upon seeing the question and understanding what the interviewer was asking for (implement a tree in Swift). It’s sadly another example of a company demonstrating a lack of understanding of assessing the skillset of a mobile developer.
Nothing hard about it, but I would be very wary of joining any mobile team that uses this as a gateway question for their candidates. I knew enough about their approach to mobile by this question that I stopped the interview. No sense in wasting anyone’s time when it’s such an obvious disconnect.
