I applied to Credit Karma and a recruiter got in touch with me. We proceeded with a technical screen over the phone with one of the Engineers. The screen not a normal algorithms question. It is a 1 our phone interview that includes algorithms, data structures and OOD. I thought I had done well only be emailed later stating that they will not move forward with me. I thought back as to why this is the outcome as I was sure that I gotten the question correctly done. I realized that the engineer did not explain the question to me properly because I misunderstood the question but did not correct me when I was explaining my understand of it. When I began coding, I wrote the function signature to my understanding, and not to his. This caused my entire program to be incorrect. The interviewer did not correct me on the method signature either. This is not acceptable for the interviewer to allow such a mistake to happen 10 mins into a 1 hour coding interview.
