I was contacted by recruiter for the opportunity at CK.
Initial call was made with recruiter at CK and then they took a weeks time to review profile to see if I am fit.
Then interview with one of staff engineer for an hour. Was given programming exercise of process and order of execution.
It went well and after that they invited for onsite but for different position. I hesitated and then was told that appear for interview and we'll finalize position based on feedback.
Went onsite after a week and was greeted with goody bag. 4 hour onsite where questions were simple about existing products, more whiteboarding and some algorithm. Queations were simple and some were repetitive. Overall it went well and was confident in getting offer.
No update from them until a week and after follow up got an email saying not considering you. I reached out asking the reason and never heard back.
It's very un professional behavior, because as a candidate I am entitled to know why I am being rejected.

Interview
The process involved a preliminary HR screen, a technical overview discussion, and then a series of coding assessments and a design architecture exercise. Overall it took a couple of weeks.

The coding assessments focused on standard JS patterns - knowing basics of algorithms, array handling, etc. Having a fundamental grasp on JS/TS should take you through these comfortably. The design exercise was more subjective and covered optimization, performance, etc.

Had a call with the recruiter. She only asked me questions like why Credit Karma and what impact do you want to make on the company. Didn't get to the next round, I feel its unfair that my experience and work was not taken into consideration.

Let me tell you CK recruiters are unprofessional the way they conduct themselves and even in the email. No respect for you. The recruiter contacted me and we had initial call. He setup initial phone screen. I asked recruiter what will be the format of phone screen. He answered generically it'd be DSA question so, prepare accordingly. Coming to my phone screen the manager who was supposed to take interview didn't join and some mid level engineer joined after 10 minutes. Instead of asking DSA question he copy pasted some long Java Design question which had 3 sub questions. I got 2 of them right. But, for 3rd one was not passing the test interviewer created because the interviewer himself was not of Java background and got confused about float and double. 2 days later as usual general email of rejection. I told recruiter what had happened and when I can apply again but, didn't get any reply. I have gone through FAANG interview process and they have recruiters who are so, professional and friendly. They provide the feedback and something goes wrong they'd try to help you. But, CK is no match of FAANG when it comes to recruiting process.
