The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (New York, NY)
Interview
It was honestly the first red flag I should have picked up on. I first came into the building about 15 mins early, which I thought was pretty standard for an interview, and it was rediculously packed. I walked around the store until I found an available associate and they radioed back that I was there, and it took a good 10 minutes for the retail manager to show up and meet me. And for our interview she basically only asked two questions: Can you learn how to use a register and show up a few times a week. She didn't ask about prior experience at all, which I guess is fine if you're someone who has never had a job before, she didn't ask any questions about how well I can talk to customers, etc. It was pretty much like she just trying to find someone to stand behind a register, which was exactly what it was!
Simple and straightforward process. The various steps were clearly outlined and any and all questions answered well and promptly. Response time was fair. The hiring team and manager were polite and professional.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (Columbia, SC) in Oct 2023
