      31 Oct 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Salt Lake City, UT
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Coursedog (Salt Lake City, UT) in Oct 2022

      Interview

I had 3 interviews, all within a week which was nice. One with the hiring manager, one with the CTO and one technical interview with a team member. All 3 were very pleasant and I was really able to get a feel for the company, the culture and what the position entailed.

      Data Engineer Interview

      30 Apr 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Coursedog (Houston, TX) in Mar 2022

      Interview

The process went super fast from the date I applied to my start date came to 39 days. Coursedog is really transparent about the process because I have a technical role I had a technical interview component. The first step is talking to a recruiter. This is mainly to share what Coursedog is about, the role, and the team. You will be asked to walk through your resume. The next step is a technical interview (If applicable) , I met with someone who was in the Data Engineer role and the hiring manager sat in. You will go over your resume and then be asked to debug 3-4 HTTP request JSON Responses including parsing the headers, and status codes. For each response, your will need to provide: 1. What you think happened? 2. Who out of the three entities (Coursedog, Customer System, Integration Partner) is at fault? 3. How would you ensure this doesn't happen again? Although, I did not know anything about the API, what they are looking for is your debugging approach, so talk through questions, they are looking for how comfortable you are with APIs and Debugging. The next 2 Steps are 1:1 interviews with first the hiring manager, then the VP of your team. The hiring manager is really structured questions asking comfortability with technology, programming language proficiencies, and some behavioral questions. The interview with the VP it's sort of the same flavor. Less structured questions, but interested in how your work, prioritize, deal with customers, etc. Needless to say for both of the final Interviews make sure you have some prepared responses using the STAR method. After that you hear from you recruiting and if you move on the process they'll seem to link to a company called now 'RefNow'. You will you provide contact information for three references professional references who will then receive an email invite to go online and filled out a 4 to 5-question survey about you they work with you. After that, it's offer time!
