I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Couch & Associates (Toronto, ON)
Interview
The interview was very confusing. I wasn't really sure what the company did and I didn't get a sense that the person I talked to really knew what the company did either...and they were one of the senior employees. Lots of jargon and buzzwords and abbreviations flying at me the whole time. I wasn't asked much about my profession and got the impression they wanted me to be a salesman more than anything(which I quickly discovered to be true) . When I asked for the elevator pitch as to why I should want to work there, more jargon and talk of great career advancement and culture(none of which came to pass). When asked what I expected in salary I quoted the average range for my profession and experience and was nearly laughed at. My offer was much lower than industry standards.
Red flags popped up all over the map but I needed a job, so I took it. In hindsight I would not have.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Couch & Associates (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Good mix of technical and theoretical questions, formal questions in an informal settings, felt relaxed and genuinely interested in my abilities and my fit with the team, offer came quickly and was a fair start and included a path for success and financial benefits.
