Interview process wasn’t hard - met with HR Director first, Hiring manager second, the GM/VP 3rd and finally, was invited for on-site meet the team. Initially, the only alarming part in the beginning was the low review rates (which I brought up during meet the greet to hiring manager) but I continued the interview process for two reasons: 1. The company I work for currently, didn’t have ideal reviews/rating when I interviewed with them but going on two years there, I’ve experienced immense support and opportunity and their hiring process was highly communicative and organized. 2. This new opportunity would have been an important step in my career despite lacking a few technical skills that are easily learned by someone who is actually passionate about the role requirements and industry. I spent about 4 weeks in total between four interviews and I felt after meet the team, I was sold on the challenge and who I’d be reporting to if I were to get the job. Instead, I got no communication for 2 weeks, following the date I was told I’d hear back. Eventually, I followed up with the HR Director and she didn’t respond to me. Another 2 weeks later, I emailed the hiring manager as a final attempt to gain clarity on where they were at with my candidacy, and also asking for feedback in the event they weren’t going to move forward with an offer. Got no response from him but that same afternoon, the HR Director emailed me a generic message that my skills and experience aren’t aligning with who they are seeking to fill the role. I can take an L, and I’m not even sharing two hiccups in the interview process that are definite experience issues for a candidate, but who puts a candidate through a director & VP level interview + meet the team, only to now realize their “skills” aren’t aligning. So messy. This experience for me would align with the horrific reviews this brand has all over the internet. It’s too bad because such a significant name on the market has to withhold good representation by its people and equally its consumers. I didn’t feel that representation at all as a candidate.
