      Recruitment Consultant Interview

      15 Aug 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Concero (WI)

      Interview

Recruiter was amazing. The interview process was overall conversational and thoughtful; team was very nice and smart. Things moved slow, but the recruiter did a great job of staying in touch. They seem to have a strong culture and high bar. Interview process gives you access to a lot of the leadership team. They use a Berke assessment (think mini SAT) and don't even discuss the purpose or results with you. The process took 2 months. I asked consistently throughout about the health of the business and reasons for hiring and was assured repeatedly of the stability. In my final conversation, the CEO literally said it "wasn't even a possibility" that my offer or future employment would be in jeopardy and that she wouldn’t waste our time. Yet less than 2 weeks after I accepted they rescinded because of "changing business needs" and RIF. After approaching me and recruiting me out of a company I had been at for years, nothing was done - payment, any effort to make connections, etc. I know the tough market and would have been understanding if they hit pause at the end, but instead the waited until I had signed and left my employer to talk to me (they knew I was waiting a week). There must have been warnings signs. The CEO should have at least had the decency to contact me herself given our conversation, and it doesn't inspire much trust that they were that out of touch or lied. Also found out they were hiring for the seat I should have stepped into via LinkedIn 2 months later - they never even reached out to see if I was interested.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Brief exercise of walking through a req and discussing how you’d approach building a search, questions around growth goals and your favorite part of the recruiting role, Berke assessment.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your interview experience with us. We are happy to hear that our recruiter did a great job staying connected and you had access to our leadership team throughout the process. We would like to address the negative experience you had and to offer our sincere apology. Our clients unexpectedly ended contracts early and we were not able to guarantee sustainability with new positions. The circumstances for us, like many other companies in tech, were unfortunate and it left you in a worse position. We take full accountability for it and understand why you lost trust. We can’t change your experience, but it has given us pause to reflect on how we can navigate these tough situations going forward.
