I applied online. I interviewed at Computer History Museum in Jan 2022
Interview
After talking to some colleagues in the field, there was a strong consensus that the interview process was unethical. After the first interview, I was invited to "the second round," in which 2-4 hours of unpaid work and ideas/planning scheme was stolen from you. With four days to complete, you were asked to:
1) Share a sample plan for an event you’ve led in the past from concept to execution.
2) Create a short (<1 page) sample concept with an agenda and written description for a new event at CHM: A summer weekend community festival focused on Tech x Creativity (750-1000+ people; $15-20k budget)
3) Write a sample letter (<1 page) you would use to invite a speaker/performer to be featured in your sample event (as conceived above in #2).
After submitting, there was a curt thank you and no follow up. Waiting 4 weeks, I reached out and they said the position was filled.
