Get in good with a professor and there is no formal interview. The trick to this is to do well in their class and ask if they need help during office hours. Sometime you can do it for credit or for pay. Different if you're an undergrad or grad student.
Good Interview, Asked about all the experience i'm having. before joining the university. It was great to meet all the healthy people. Also asked more about the next projects i may work in the future.

Phone calls and emails. One in person meeting for a tour. Mostly discussed past experience and undergrad research. The school was great but they were looking for someone with more industry experience.
