I had 4 interviews with the recruiter, hiring manager, person currently in the role, and the president of the real estate division. Throughout, the recruiter told me everything was going great and to "keep doing what I was doing, and bring that same energy". (This must be the same recruiter that the Marketing Operations Manager candidate posted about here on April 5, 2024) The President asked for some work samples which I promptly provided, and she replied that she had received them and the team would be in touch. I heard nothing from them. I emailed the recruiter and didn't hear back. Finally, a week later I called him and was told he should know more by the end of the week. He was going on vacation and his colleague would follow up. I'm still waiting. And I just saw they have reposted the job. So this company apparently makes it a habit to ghost candidates, even those that have gone quite far in the process.
Also, it was quite evident that there was no alignment across the interviewers as to the priorities of the role, the primary skills needed, or even who the role would manage. It all seemed very, very messy and I feel I may have dodged a bullet, although I was very interested in the role!
