      Quantitative Analyst Interview

      7 Mar 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Cogo Labs

      Interview

First round was a phone interview, then a virtual interview that was more technical and brainteasers, followed by a final round on-site interview that consists of uptown 3 rounds of interviews, maybe less/maybe more.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Cogo Labs in Oct 2020

      Interview

The interviewer is not patient and kind of absent-minded during phone call. She didn't even seem like she is listening. I really do not like her attitude. Very bad experience.

      No offer
      Neutral experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Cogo Labs in Jun 2020

      Interview

Fairly straight forward process starting with a phone screen, interview with two analysts, then interview with 4-6 analysts. I didn't move on from this one, but I feel like if you make it through that you're basically in, though there is a final interview with a director and you provide some references. It's an entry level role that they seem to be continuously recruiting for, I've seen the posting up for months now. There's tons of college grads looking for this type of role and while the type of work and salary is pretty average, they're a "cool" company on paper in a good city so they can be a little picky on who they take since the pool of candidates is so high. They ask some basic behavioral and situational questions, talk about analytics projects you've done, etc. Nothing terribly technical. Do your research on the company as much as you can since the business model is a bit different than what you might be used to and having a good understanding of what they do helped me stand out and progress through the early rounds. They do some brain teasers as well - I'm frankly not good at those types of questions and I think they weight them very heavily since I felt comfortable during the other interview portions and was fairly well qualified with my degree and experience. I would have preferred a small take home project or an actually relevant case to work through during the interview instead of brain teasers. The process moved fairly quickly which was nice. I asked for feedback after getting rejected but did not receive an email back, which is not uncommon but after three rounds of interviewing was a little disappointing. Overall an okay interview process minus the brainteasers, but a somewhat difficult to understand what the company actually does and what your role would be focused on since you're not applying to a specific team.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Brainteasers similar to what has been mentioned here - egg drop, dice optimization, etc.
