      AngularJS/NodeJS Developer Interview

      9 Oct 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Orlando, FL
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cognizant (Orlando, FL) in Sept 2015

      Interview

What felt like countless rounds of phone interviews before being presented with the client an interview with them, who ultimately makes the decision regarding your fir within their environment. In my experience, there was an extreme language barrier... 3 of the 4 interviewers had an Indian accent that was so strong, it was hard to communicate... compounded by the fact that they were talking to me on speakerphone, it was quite unpleasant. By interview round 3, you do a Skype pre-screening video chat. They don't show their face, they just want to see yours. This process seemed tremendously unorganized, with much of the same questions being asked over and over again. During this lengthy process, there was no detailed discussion about the actual position they were trying to fill, what the anticipated salary would be, work expectations, very limited details on company benefits (only only 10 vacation days, no exceptions), etc. It was a negative experience that left a bad taste in my mouth. As a very experienced and professional candidate, I decided to accept an offer elsewhere.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

AngularJS and NodeJS basic questions. I passed easily from a technical perspective, but it was still difficult to get past the incredibly strong accents, repetitiveness, and unorganization that clearly exists.
