I had two interviews. First, one to talk about the role and my experiences, and the second was about simple python coding. I was a bit disappointed because they said We just want to see if you can write a code but then They reject me because "We are more interested in your thought process than the perfect solution. I encourage you to strengthen your coding skills and re-apply at a later time. ", I also heard from a Ph.D. candidate which was said because of that! The point is with just simple coding it is not possible to find a good Data Scientist or ML engineer the process needs to focus on the other skills. If you are going to hire a developer that process is absolutely correct otherwise it is not.
