During my initial call with HR, I clearly communicated my minimum salary expectations, and they confirmed alignment before proceeding. I successfully cleared two rounds of interviews, after which HR reached out again, verbally indicating that they wanted to extend an offer and reconfirmed the previously discussed compensation.
However, after that conversation, there was complete silence. Despite following up twice, I received a rejection stating that my salary expectations did not align — the same expectations that were acknowledged at the start.
This experience wasted significant time and effort and highlighted a lack of consistency and transparency in the process. If this is reflective of the company culture, then perhaps this was a bullet dodged. I hope they take this as an opportunity to improve their candidate experience moving forward.
