      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Clement Browne

      Interview

Reading through other people’s experiences/seeing the director’s ignorant replies to staff reviews reassured me that it’s not just me! I received a message last year on LinkedIn from this company saying that they had seen my CV, were impressed by my experience and thought that I would be a great fit for their vacancy. I originally ignored the message as I was fairly new to the field (6 months experience) and the job was a higher position. However, when they contacted me another two times over the next couple of months saying they’d read my CV (and therefore knew I was a new graduate without tons of experience) and wanted me to apply, I thought eh what’s the harm? I applied and after they had (presumably) read my application, was offered an interview. After a couple of minutes of interview niceties, they told me that they were going to be honest. They ‘weren’t sure why’ I had applied for the position as I was inexperienced and that it just wasn’t going to work. I was obviously confused as the interview had only just started and they had literally asked me several times to apply, having told me they’d read my CV, and then had invited me to an interview, having read my application. After this they asked me some questions but criticised my answers and then suggested I find an apprenticeship, despite the fact I had recently graduated. Safe to say, I wasn’t offered the job and drove the forty minutes home completely dumbfounded as to how a company that specialises in shutter screens can’t even screen a CV. Waste of time and petrol.

      Question 1

Why don’t you look for an apprenticeship instead?
