Interview
I applied online after hearing about city year from a recruiter. The application is very short, general questions about previous employment and volunteer work, two essay questions and two recommendation forms. About a week after submitting it I got invited for a screening interview. The day after the screening interview I got invited for the selection interview.

Question 1
Name a strength and a weakness of yours. (This was difficult for me because I am not used to describing myself.)
Very simple. Quick virtual interview and pretty simple questions. Research their values and what not and you should be good to go. As far as I remember it was a single interview and decision is relatively soon after that.
Really friendly and welcoming. Try to make it as comfortable as possible and share about the work they do. They want to ensure applicants are making the right decisions and that they assess the values.

Interview
Done over zoom and not an overly long process interviews are usually conducted by the IM for a school in the city you are applying for but if you have a pulse you should be fine
