      NOC Engineer Interview

      18 Nov 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chessington, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Cisilion (Chessington, England) in Sept 2016

      Interview

Bit of Strange company Cisilion are if you ask me - Check the other candidates comments below with similar experiences as myself - Also when reading Glassdoor employee reviews of them before they were almost all negative so I'm not convinced the new ones entered are all entirely genuine. Anyway I applied online with them and had a telephone interview. The job asked for a CCNA R+S (I am a CCNP R+S) but was interested in the role as it was local - I answered all the really quite entry level VPN setup questions flawlessly - The interviewer asked if I had worked on ASA, I said most of my Firewall experience was with Checkpoint (although I have also worked on ASA) - so he asked me no ASA questions at all and obviously didn't seem to know anything about Checkpoint to ask any questions on that. So on not hearing anything for a week or so, I called to chase them and after an age HR said the feedback was that I did not have enough ASA experience - Hang on, I wasn't asked any ASA questions at all and only said most of my Firewall experience was with Checkpoint. Anyway I gave up as they seemed to have this viewpoint stuck and I got another role relatively quickly. So less than a year later they contacted me again, asking me to apply for * wait for it * a junior apprenticeship role!! Hang on, I assume they got my details from their files but failed to read my age, experience and supposedly lack of ASA knowledge they had noted before. I emailed back and said this and they said oh we have your file now. I sent in a recent CV and again heard nothing. From my experience this doesn't sound like a professional company at least as recruitment is involved, and from reading earlier employee reviews (which some negative ones seemed to have been removed) operationally also. My advice is to steer clear!

We also have an Internal Recruitment team who are dedicated professionals looking to make continual improvements to our processes so we will take all comments on board. I am sorry to hear that you are still awaiting feedback as this should not be the case. Please contact careers@cisilion.com directly and a member of the HR department will get back to you as soon as possible.

      NOC Engineer Interview

      4 Dec 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Leatherhead, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Cisilion (Leatherhead, England) in Nov 2016

      Interview

I was initial contacted by an Agency about this role. Which at the time seemed like a great role? Seen as it was local, and at a certain salary expectation. I had turned down another role with a similar salary expectation. To get this Job. I had an initial telephone interview. That seemed to go well, and the guys conducting the interview were very professional. They sounded like they were a good group of guys, that I would be happy to work with. So, I was asked to come in for an interview the next week. I thought great news! On the day of the interview. I was informed it would be with the management, and the senior engineers, and a lab to complete, all fairly standard stuff! I turned up on the day of the interview happy to show the team there. What I could do. I was meet by a nice lady who asked me who my interview was with? Which came as a bit of a surprise! Despite the number of confirmation e-mails between the company, and my agency, myself. I started to get the feeling that I was not expected. Which as it happens turned out to be true. I was then greeted by the manager. To be told they did not know I was coming in for an interview, and that their recruitment manager had just left the business I excepted this, and thought okay that is life. Things happen! We then had a private chat about the role what he’s looking for, and what was expected which was all fine by me. I was very interested by this stage in the role, and the manager came across as a nice guy and somebody I would be happy to work with very professional. Despite the way things started. Anyway, I was told they would be very keen to get me in for a formal interview as soon as possible. I thought great!! I made myself available for them. I was then contacted later that day. To be informed the salary that was agreed, with the agency, and the company. Before they were not willing to do! Which as you can image at this stage was a bit of a shock. As I was mainly a contractor, and already taking a massive hit on salary. To get this role. Looking for a more stable job. So, I lowered my expectation on salary again. This they were also unwilling to do also. Because of this. I have turned down work with another company willing to meet my salary expectations, and I am out of work till the new year. I am less than impressed by the whole thing. Normally I would not have bothered to write this, and would have chalked it up to one of those things that happen in life however I just thought it was extraordinary!

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Cisilion (Leatherhead, England) in Jan 2014

      Interview

Was asked what team i support (they want to hear Chelsea) and was asked if i make tea..... The face to face was more of a personality test to see if i had any form of character that they needed to break.

      Question 1

What is needed for a site to site VPN to work, the guy interviewing me didn't know the answer himself so i was stopped 25% of the way through my answer. In the face to face i was asked to setup a site to site VPN between a router and a ASA, i didn't even come close to getting it working but was employeed anyway. TIP: They are too cheap to use new switches in their lab so they use the old vlan database rubbish switches.
