I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at Cisco (San Jose, CA) in Jul 2008
Interview
the process itself was fine, the candidate experience was OK. What was confusing is that I was considered for at least 4 different jobs - twice the jobs were eliminated mid-process. the other two times I interviewed for one thing and was passed to another manager for another thing. it was just a bit confusing.
I had 3 interviews. One interview was a phone screening. The other two were over Webex, Cisco's platform. All of my interviewers were really nice and attempted to put me at ease. The questions were your typical interview questions.
I applied through university. I interviewed at Cisco (Provo, UT) in Oct 2018
Interview
We had the interview over their video conferencing platform Webex. I met with two individuals and they asked me questions for about 20 minutes, and was then given time to ask my own questions. The two interviewers started out cheerful and friendly, asked for clarification if needed, and were encouraging throughout the interview.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Cisco (Washington, DC) in Jul 2018
Interview
Cumbersome process - it is all about who you know - friends get promoted. My company was acquired by them and they said they would make sure those who were placed on transition got hired but that was not correct.
