      Kitchen Team Member Interview

      2 Aug 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Chick-fil-A Corporate (San Diego, CA) in Jul 2016

      Interview

I feel very mixed about the process. Arrived at front, let cashier know I was here for an interview and waited at a seat until a shift-leader came to interview me. The first interview I had a very positive experience. I was taken to the back and interviewed was very solid, she let me know about how the process works and days I am available to receive an email if I am offered. Had a really good experience from this interview, if this was a one-interview kind of thing I woulda felt like I nailed the interview. A week later had a second interview scheduled. I arrived 5 minutes early, I had a very different experience than the last one this time. The Drive-Thru was kind of busy I guess, but the front was empty. I was told to sit in the middle of the store because it was really busy I guess. I understand being busy and all, but I sat down for 35 minutes staring at a vase before anybody came to interview me. I was NOT taken to the back, I was interviewed in the middle of the store between 3 families which made me pretty uncomfortable. I felt a little out of it because I was sitting for 35 minutes doing nothing(Did not take out my phone because I thought that would be rude, didn't use the bathroom either cause I didn't want to miss the person). The person interviewing me asked me a lot about my major and what I want to be, and I believed I had very solid answers to the questions. This interview felt very unprofessional though, I did not feel as comfortable as the first interview, felt a little rushed and delving into my personal life. When the interview was over, she kept asking me if I had any personal questions for her, and I asked her about how she knew so much about my major because she kept asking me a lot of questions about my school. I feel like this may have reflected that I didn't have any interest in the job and hurt me I guess. After she answered my question, she told me was, "Well that's it, nice meeting you." No knowledge about a 3rd interview, any notice of contact. A week later I waited and waited, I didn't get a 3rd interview, and I was completely done with this 3-interview-1-month crap that Chick-Fil-A does after being treated unfairly. This whole 3-week interview thing upsets me because I could have applied to more places during this time, but I felt really confident when I got a 2nd interview, cause my friend told me the store only does two interviews. I waited and waited for the 3rd interview response and nothing, that whole week was wasted in terms of job-hunting.
