Recently, I was offered an interview opportunity that I had genuinely looked forward to. Unfortunately, due to an urgent and unforeseen matter, I had to request a last-minute reschedule. I explained the situation in full transparency, hoping for some understanding.
However, my request was declined, and I was informed that they would not proceed further even after I respectfully asked for a second chance. While it was disappointing, I’ve come to see it as a valuable insight into the organization's culture.
A lack of empathy during such moments speaks volumes. It helped me understand that the negative reviews I’d come across about the company weren't entirely unfounded. In hindsight, it feels like a narrow escape from working in an environment that might not have aligned with my values or expectations.
Sometimes, rejection is redirection and in this case, it's a reminder that the right opportunities will come from the right kind of people.
