I submitted a cover letter and resume and the hiring manager responded within a few weeks. Although I did not receive the job, the interview was fairly simple and straightforward. No tricky/difficult/unexpected questions. After a current colleague (who had recommended me for the job) spoke with the hiring manager, he was told it was because I was not able to start the position within the next month.
