After being offered the opportunity to interview for a higher position because I decided not to pursue the original lower level one I had interviewed for, I was taken through a month long process where a new job description was created to fit my skills, several video interviews with different people, and at the final one that included HR, I was asked to complete an exercise once I submitted it, I was then thanked and asked for references. When I supplied them, I was then emailed again right after with a thanks but no thanks email with no further explanation. I felt I was owed that much considering I had put another job offer on hold to accommodate their back and forth month long process.
I find this to be very insulting, dismissive and inconsiderate. When I asked for an explanation I was passed on to HR who dismissed the whole thing with a very senseless and lame reason as to why, simply saying that my test results showed I would probably not be a good match for the department. Then why ask for references then send me a rejection email??
In the manner that I was dismissed and treated, I found quite appalling and I’m truly glad that things did not work out because if this is how they treat support staff prior to joining, I can only imagine how staff is treated once hired.
An extremely frustrating and disappointing waste of time.
