Interview
Let’s just say this was the most unprofessional and unpleasant experience ever. Applied online, met with the recruiter and then had a virtual meeting with the hiring manager. She stated “if you receive another job offer please let me know because I don’t want you to accept something else.” Fast forward 2 weeks I go onsite for an interview. The hiring manager (the VP of Sales & Marketing) asked me to do a ‘mock’ marketing presentation (it wasn’t mock. It was a real business initiative. A friend of mine works at the construction company helping to build their new facility). She gave me a long prompt, and asked for a pitch deck 10-15 slides long. I did it by the due date and have since been ghosted. Luckily I have a different job, but this has got to be the shadiest thing a company could do. The recruiter has been unresponsive, and so has the hiring manager. Keep in mind I applied at the end of June… and it’s the end of August now.
