Applied via referral after being ghosted previously in Nov 2024. During this process the recruiter explicitly stated that they would not ghost me this time.
I had my hiring manager interview on Jan 23. The conversation went well and my background was closely aligned with the role (10+ years in Product Management, 4 years working with Snowflake and multi-tenant data platforms, data governance experience, UX background, and recently promoted to Principal PM in a similar domain).
At the end of the interview I was told a decision would be made by Wednesday. That date passed with no update. I followed up with the HR (him) as instructed but received no response for over 12 days, and ultimately more than 26 days passed with complete silence.
This was particularly disappointing given the referral and the explicit assurance that communication would be better this time.
Regardless of internal politics or hiring process issues, promising candidates timely communication and then going silent reflects poorly on the company.
Other reviews mentioning ghosting appear to be accurate.
