Hiring process was pretty standard. I was contacted by a phenomenal recruiter who thought I was a great fit for the job. First interview with HR over the phone went great. Second interview in person with the plant manager went great, lasting for a few hours. Third interview with VP from OKC via phone. I had to reschedule the first time, then he never showed for the rescheduled time. Finally, the third time was a charm and we were able to connect for a short 20 minutes.
I asked during the interview process about relocation assistance and if there is a requirement to live within a certain distance from the plant. I was told there is no requirement to live a certain distance and they would provide relocation assistance. After going through all of the interviews, they were hung up on whether or not I would relocate even though the plant manager thought I was a great fit for the culture and skill set. The other candidate also needed to relocate so they also passed on her. In the end, they were not very upfront about what they were expecting from a relocation standpoint and truly did not want to work with someone for relocation. They were only interested in finding a local candidate.
