      Contracts & Licensing Interview

      7 Apr 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Saint Louis, MO
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Capitas Financial (Saint Louis, MO) in Mar 2015

      Interview

***They typically only hire from temp agencies (sometimes friends’ children, or a caddy). The interview was very basic and not challenging whatsoever. They have a handful of people in the boardroom at the time who each ask you generic, uneducated/unspecific questions pertaining to your work experience and trying to determine whether or not you can do the job. ***They all downplay the position drastically and even the job description does not give a clear representation of the position. When I was applying, there were two openings - for two very different jobs and they both had almost the SAME exact verbiage in BOTH of the job postings. When I inquired more about the position as to what I would be doing exactly they said, “All you’ll be doing is calling and checking on agent’s appointments.” Which is nowhere near the truth. ***They did not ask me any behavioral interview questions or questions that require thought. ***The St. Louis location does not run a drug test (the owner is a grateful dead fan) ***IMPORTANT!! They ALWAYS DO DIRECT-HIRES from the Temp Agency. The Temp Agency may tell you that it is a temp-to-hire position and for 6 months you would work for the temp agency, then after 6 months, if they like you, they will potentially hire you. This company ALWAYS does a direct hire - if they like you, the temp agency will call you and say, "They are going to hire you directly". ***ALSO IMPORTANT - When you are told you are going to be a direct hire by the temp agency - the temp agency (if they quoted you a price before) may now say that SINCE the firm is doing a direct hire they are going to pay $3-6k less than the amount originally quoted, "but, the owner said they will bring up to this amount before the end of the year". IF they tell you this - REJECT the offer and demand they keep the pay at the original quote (or demand more - trust, this amount is no where near the headache or frustration of dealing with manager who is also your trainer and creates a hostile work environment).
