Had a phone interview with a Corporate Recruiter as a first round. The recruiter reached out to me via email and arranged for the phone interview. The interview was very relaxed and friendly. The recruiter indicated that they would be in touch the following week. However, after trying to follow up with the recruiter that next week and receiving no response, I received an email the next week indicating that they were pursuing other candidates that more closely matched their needs.
