      Human Resources Business Partner Interview

      10 Jul 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Reston, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CACI International (Reston, VA) in May 2019

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter after being referred by a friend and former coworker who works there. I came in for my first 1:1 interview and I liked everyone I met with, and they liked me too. Nobody gave me business cards so I had to ask the recruiter for email addresses so I could follow up. I didn't get those, but within less than a day I received feedback that I was very positively received by the interviewers, and could I come in for a second interview with the management team I would most likely be working with. I came in a week later, and interviewed with 2 more people again. I thought it went really well. But I will never know since my recruiter couldn't bother to reach out to me with any kind of update, nothing. Not even an email stating that "we liked you, but we went in another direction". NOTHING. I took 2 days off for these interviews to be completely blown off. It has now been 6 weeks, and at this point I am not interested in the job as I do not want to work for a company who cannot be bothered to keep their applicants in the know - especially when they took PTO from their jobs and came in not once, but twice. I work in HR, so you would think to be sure I got the full candidate experience, considering I know what to expect. But no. And the questions - they were reading off of scripts - so it was very robotic and in more than one instance i ended up answering the same questions multiple times. Perhaps a panel interview would have been a better choice? I know schedules are hard to coordinate but if you are looking for qualified candidates you make it work. And another note of advice - there are other questions to ask candidates than just "tell me about a time when...." I am well aware of CACI's precarious reputation going back to the late 80s/early 90s. But I decided to ignore that and apply anyway. I was wrong - I should have gone with my gut.
