Very speedy interview process, not a lot of structure.
Mostly concerned with scoping out what competition they have in hiring you and determining your expectations for pay.
Not a lot of transparency if you ask them questions in the interview stage.
Strictly non-union workplace, trying to staff in house maintenance, electricians, mechanics, and millwrights.
Received interview in less than 24 hours.
They will ask you for your expected salary, and base the initial offer off of this figure.
I was offered the job within hours of my second interview. Wage of approximately my initial salary request/ 1900hrs/year and benefits (Most notably: health, dental, boot allowance, 401k matching up to 3% on the first 6% after 1000 hours worked, 56hrs PTO in the first year, 2 weeks in years 2-5, 3 weeks years 6-10, 4 weeks after 11 years; 8 paid holidays )
I described my experience and qualifications, and how I would be a benefit to the company, and asked for an increase in starting wage by $0.96/hr.
They rescinded the offer quickly as opposed to working to find common ground. "We're not on the same page."
